Survey name: 2013 Natural England (NE) Tweed Estuary SAC: Biotope Survey This is a collation of surveys to gather data and evidence from a variety of marine environments. The survey purposes vary and include recommended Marine Conservation Zone (rMCZ) Phase I or II verification surveys, condition assessments, surveys of features of Natura 2000 sites (Special Area of Conservation, Special Protection Area), Intertidal surveys, Benthic grab surveys and others. Lineage

"Natural England (NE) commissioned an intertidal survey of the Annex 1 feature mudflats and sandflats not covered by seawater at low tide within the Tweed Special Area of Conservation (SAC), as part of the Marine Monitoring Framework programme. The survey was designed to map the biotopes within the SAC (focussing on intertidal soft sediment biotopes) and complement the results of quantitative Phase II coring surveys carried out by NE and the Environment Agency (EA) earlier in 2013 and in 2011, 2008 and 2007. Final report is currently being signed off. Expected by next month (April 2014). Draft report cited in 'References'."
